LanzAbility x Native Diving: Meet our accessible diving partner

It seems like a huge coincidence or maybe it’s fate that the only diving company offering diving immersions for people with physical disabilities is located right here in Lanzarote. After getting in touch and receiving a thorough introduction to these unique experiences, I knew I wanted to make these opportunities available to my holiday guests.

How does it work?

Native Diving uses adapted water chairs designed for people with limited mobility, allowing them to explore the underwater world with ease. Crafted with comfort and safety in mind, these specially developed chairs enable divers to experience the ocean's beauty without the physical strain typically associated with scuba diving.

Before your dive, you will receive a comprehensive briefing, ensuring you feel confident and prepared for your underwater adventure. During your 30-minute immersion, you’ll be accompanied by three experienced diving professionals who will guide you through the process and ensure your safety at all times.

What to expect when diving in at the deep end in Lanzarote?

As you descend into the water, you’ll literally feel like diving into a new world: a blue and turquoise palette that gives you a sense of weightlessness and freedom to explore. With crystal-clear waters offering visibility up to 30 metres and mild temperatures year-round, you'll have the perfect conditions to witness vibrant corals and colourful fish.

Common sightings include angel sharks resting on the sandy seabed, sleek barracudas, curious groupers, and brightly coloured parrotfish. You might also spot octopuses camouflaged in rocky crevices, moray eels peeking out from holes, and graceful rays gliding along the ocean floor. Every now and then, you might even see a sea turtle swimming by, adding to the island’s underwater charm.
