At LanzAbility, our mission is to create unique, adapted experiences for people with disabilities, turning dreams into reality. We aim to make the unimaginable possible so that you leave this island with unforgettable memories, a rush of endorphins, and a new perspective on what is possible for you.
Like scuba-diving in a wheelchair.
It seems like a huge coincidence or maybe it’s fate that the only diving company offering diving immersions for people with physical disabilities is located right here in Lanzarote. After getting in touch and receiving a thorough introduction to these unique experiences, I knew I wanted to make these opportunities available to my holiday guests.
Native Diving uses
adapted water chairs designed for people with limited mobility, allowing them to explore the underwater world with ease. Crafted with
comfort and safety in mind, these specially developed chairs enable divers to experience the ocean's beauty without the physical strain typically associated with scuba diving.
Before your dive, you will receive a comprehensive briefing, ensuring you feel confident and prepared for your underwater adventure. During your 30-minute immersion, you’ll be accompanied by three experienced diving professionals who will guide you through the process and ensure your safety at all times.
As you descend into the water, you’ll literally feel like diving into a new world: a blue and turquoise palette that gives you a sense of weightlessness and freedom to explore. With crystal-clear waters offering visibility up to 30 metres and mild temperatures year-round, you'll have the perfect conditions to witness vibrant corals and colourful fish.
Common sightings include angel sharks resting on the sandy seabed, sleek barracudas, curious groupers, and brightly coloured parrotfish. You might also spot octopuses camouflaged in rocky crevices, moray eels peeking out from holes, and graceful rays gliding along the ocean floor. Every now and then, you might even see a sea turtle swimming by, adding to the island’s underwater charm.
Accessible scuba diving is open to individuals
over the age of 8, weighing
less than 150 kg, and
in good health. Our teams will work closely with you to assess your suitability for the activity, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
This scuba-diving experience in Lanzarote is not just about capturing a fun underwater photo to share back home. It’s about connecting with nature in a completely new environment, pushing personal boundaries, and discovering a sea of opportunities. Like every first-time experience, this is your chance to step out of your comfort zone and explore what else is possible for you. I guarantee you, it’s more than you think.
